EAPO annual report 2022

The Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) published the annual report of the work done in 2022. In the report, the achievements of EAPO’s activities and the statistics are described. Here are the main points:

• A record number of patent applications over the last 10 years were filed with the EAPO in 2022 (3,731 applications).

• The number of granted patents for invention increased: 2,766 Eurasian patents (+350 patents relative to statistics of the last year).

• 233 Eurasian industrial design applications were filed and 148 Eurasian industrial design patents were granted in 2022 (+141 applications / patents relative to statistics of the last year).

• As of July 1, 2022, the EAPO began to act as the International Searching Authority (ISA) and the International Preliminary Examining Authority (IPEA).

• As of November 1, 2022, the EAPO began to accept digital three-dimensional models (3D models) in relation to Eurasian patent and industrial design applications.

• As of May 1, 2022, Eurasian patents are also granted in digital form. Starting from January 1, 2023, Eurasian patents are granted in digital form. A letters patent in paper form can be obtained upon the request of the proprietor.
