EAPO appointed as an International Authority under the PCT

On November 22, 2021 the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) signed the agreement on appointment of the EAPO to act as the International Searching Authority (ISA) and the International Preliminary Examining Authority (IPEA).

Acquired a new status under the PCT, the EAPO has become the 24th ISA and IPEA in the world.

During the official meeting the heads of the authorities also discussed procedural matters and specific activities that should be implemented in connection with the entry into force of the signed agreement and successful launch of the EAPO operations as the ISA/IPEA. A particular attention was given to training activities of EAPO employees within PCT system.
